Course Description:
Putting the Pieces Together is a two-day interactive training. This training programme was developed to harness an integrated approach to working with young people, parents and communities on the subject of drugs and alcohol. This learning programme will train people in the use and content of the training manual. It aims to act as a guide and a resource for those working with young people in an out-of-school setting. On completion of the two-day course, participants will receive a copy of the PTPT training manual and a certificate of attendance. 

Course Content:
To explore and challenge attitudes in relation to substance use. To enhance knowledge and understanding of substance use. To explore how drugs affect the brain and elicit their effects. To develop skills in delivering drug and alcohol education. To develop an understanding of best practice in substance use education. To develop skills in relation to talking to young people about substance use. To give an introduction to the use of brief interventions. To develop an understanding of how to use the resource "Putting The Pieces Together". To develop an awareness of services available locally and nationally

Learning Outcomes:
The Putting the Pieces Together course will train people in the use and content of the manual. It aims is to act as a guide and a resource for persons working with young people of mixed abilities in an out-of-school setting.
